The finest blend of Indian and European music with piano:
"To mark the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome in India, a piano concert was held at the Grand Crystal Ball Room in the capital by Ariane Gray Hubert. With mellifluous compositions and renditions, Ariane played with an agility that met the music’s colouristic and rhythmic demands. With her new world music Trio ‘Piano Rag(a) Time’, it gave the audiences a rare and enriching experience."

Piano,
ghatam, tabla- three to tango for Bollywood music:
Bollywood music composers have long been fascinated by piano
music. But now a Franco American composer, Ariane Gray Hubert,
is combining piano with ghatam and tabla to make what she
calls "niche new age music for Hindi films".
“Piano is western in origin and has for long been used
for comedy music in Hollywood films and in French melodies. This
makes me realise that combining it with Indian classical instruments
can create music which will gel very well with live stories in
Bollywood movies," says Hubert, who is already talking to
various music directors.

She is not your regular pianist content to tread the beaten
chord-performing to Indian ragas or playing classics in concerts.

improvisations and special techniques. “One should look
beyond Mozart and Schubert”.

Ever wondered how a piano, which is so Western in concept, would
adapt to the indian classical style of music- Ariane Gray Hubert
has certainly succeeded in doing so, challenging the laws of
playing the piano. Imagination being her middle name, melody
comes naturally to this French nightingale.
